As one of India&#8217;s first female graffiti artists, she has pioneered street art and graffiti all over India (for NGOs, residencies, and commercial clients).<\/p><p>Initially a Computer Engineer, she returned to her artistic roots and has been an active member of the growing Indian art fraternity.<\/p><p>Practically, Shirin mainly works with graphite, hand embroidery, acrylics and digital illustrations too. She has also conducted workshops, organized art festivals, and worked on sculptures and home d\u00e9cor projects. Her time these days is spent balancing between studio work and wall murals .<\/p><h3><strong>Residencies:<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/prohelvetia.in\/en\/shirin-shaikh-on-research-trip-to-switzerland\/\">Research Residency<\/a> By Pro Helvetia At Switzerland (2021).<\/li><li>Participated in the 13th edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/crackbd.org\/\">CRACK international camp<\/a> at Kushtia , Bangladesh\u00a0 where I did an installation art (2019).<\/li><li>Environmental Artist Residency &#8212; collaboration between Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary and Chittorgarh Art Society (2018).<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/sowingseed.wordpress.com\/\">Sowing Seeds International Village Art Residency<\/a> &#8211; 7th edition, Jaisalmer (2018).<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>Festivals and Exhibitions<\/strong>:<\/h3><ul><li>ARTTALENTS Exhibition (2022), Tanzwerk101, Zurich, Switzerland<\/li><li>FOIFVIER (2021), Baden, Switzerland<\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\">Illustration series exhibited at KYTA residency in Leh, India (2019)<\/span><\/li><li>Organizer and chief artist for the Ladies First Street Art Festival. In charge of designing the festival outline and artist lineup (2019). Also painted a 80ft wall mural at the Marol Art Village (cited as the Top 10 places to visit in India by National Geographic Traveller.<\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Shillong Street Art Festival (2018)<\/span><\/li><li>Featured guest artist for Mood Indigo Festival IITB (2016 and 2017).<\/li><li>Matheran Green Festival &#8211; 2nd edition (2016)<\/li><li>Participated in the Beauty of recycling exhibition, Pune and Glimps exhibition, Pune.<\/li><li>First group exhibition; ARAMBHA (2013), Pune.<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>NGO collaboration<\/strong>:<\/h3><ul><li>Healing Himalayas Foundation;(working in Himalayan mountains). Wall painting and graffiti with social messages at different locations.
